What to wear in September?

Drizzly weather... sunshine, cold windy mornings... suffocating afternoons. The weather has been completely crazy these past few weeks. We have had days during which temperatures rose to a tropical 31 degrees. Not our typical Dutch weather.. However we have also had rain and thunder, something that somehow always seems to follow up warm summery days.

Every morning the big question is: what to wear today? I find it quite difficult to dress up for these weird days. In the morning a jacket or sweater is needed, yet in the afternoon, at the end of the day, all you really need is a bikini. Since that is not really an option I prefer linen joggers, sneakers and a sweater with a plain tee underneath. What do you wear when the weather is unpredictable like this?

Bye for now! xx

P.S. So much has happened over the past months. I was busy finishing both Masters (and succeeded in doing so, yeah!), I created a book about the future of retail for my project Glocal Stories, celebrated two weeks of freedom after which I started as Junior PR Consultant at FNKE. Exciting times!!

Black Shoes

What should every girl need in her closet? Black leather shoes, lots of them. Thus I decided to show you guys my favourite ones and tell a bit more about each pair. All black, all leather, yet completely different. Here we go..

1. Next patent leather ankle booties. These boots are the ones I wear when my outfit seems a bit basic. Shiny black with a fun length and sturdy block heel always is a good idea.
2. Clarks. Desert boots are great and go with jeans, leather leggings and skirts, so the ultimate basic.
3. Fred de la Bretoniere lace-ups. Black lace-ups are easily worn with every outfit, but my ultimate favourite combination is with suit pants, as seen here.
4. Acne booties, 12 cm sturdy heels in which you can walk all day. Gotta love Acne booties! In addition they are just beautiful because of the buttery leather and nice cut
5. Topshop fringed loafers. Bought these ones a while ago but since the weather is quite terrible I haven't had the chance to wear them yet. However they are obviously great for spring and summer, let's just hope that they aren't only good looking but that they are comfy as well.
6. Deena & Ozzy nubuck leather chelsea booties. Love the heel height and the matte black leather, they are quite anonymous (can you say that about shoes?), so if you have a nice top, jacket or skirt they don't steal the show.

What do you think? What kind of shoes are essential for you? xx

Peugeot Single Speed

Last week I took my bike to the work and my colleague took some photos of it! Not sure if I ever told you, but I work at a photo studio so it made sense to take some personal photos. Last year I pimped this old bike and I'm really happy with the result. We had a lot of fun shooting these because I wanted some photos where I was really biking which turned out to be quite hard (not because I cannot bike, but because of the small space ;-) What do you think of the result and do you like my bike, I know I do!

Furthermore I'm wearing my new favourite sweater from the Danish ADPT. together with my trusty black Acne jeans. Below two more photos (with voluminous hair)! xx

When in Oslo

At the moment I'm not in Norway anymore, but here some photos from last week. I have to admit that I wasn't that impressed by what I saw of Norway. I guess that if too many people say something is amazing you have certain expectations that are hard to meet. We stayed at the ***** Lysebu Hotel on top of the mountain in the Northern part of Oslo, the view was amazing (you could see both the city center and the entire Oslo fjord).

We of course went to the city center and its surrounding areas. The Opera House was definitely beautiful (I will show you some photos soon) but the areas I liked best are called Uranienborg, Vika and Frogner. The photos above are all taken over there. I loved the huge tall buildings with their charming facades, there were also many good shops in the area (Fillipa K, MS Icon AS, L'Occitane, etc.) Have you ever been to Oslo?

Windy Århus

Since Århus is situated along the eastern coast and the city centre is directly facing the sea there is a lot of wind. We tried to take some outfit photos, but I have to admit it is quite hard when your hair is dancing around - and repeatedly in front of - your face. Well we did our best and this is the result ;-)

At the moment we are in Oslo where our hotel is located on top of the hill so we have an amazing view over the Oslofjord and the city centre. We just had breakfast and now we are changing into our sport outfit and going for a bootcamp at the Olympic ski jump: Holmenkollbakken.

Have you ever been in and around Oslo and have tips of what we should do or visit? xx

Lush Greens

Another look for you guys, from when I was walking the dog at my parents in law. I brought my camera and Mart took some quick outfit photos. I was wearing one of my favorite silk shirts (yes with bears on it) and my new skinny jeans from Acne. Really love these new trousers, it has been a long time since I had jeans that are so skinny. I normally go for slim fitted jeans, but every now and then it's time for a change and I have to admit that I'm surprised that I like them so much. Definitely a good addition to my denim collection!

With this unpredictable summer weather I never really know what kind of shoes I should wear. I find myself choosing lace-ups more and more lately, because I can wear them without socks and if it is going to rain I will keep my feet dry ;-) After a long walk I had to bring my shoes to the shoemaker to get some new soles, certainly not the best shoes for walking in the woods haha. xx

When in Berlin

We took some outfit photos last thursday in Berlin. I was wearing my new Acne denim, a pair of black leather Clarks, a striped shirt and my favorite cropped leather jacket. The weather was surprisingly cold compared to the 30 something temperatures we had in Holland. What I love about Berlin is that there are so many nice locations to take outfit photos,  I decided to have the U-bahn in the background. xx

Net-a-Porter Sale Wishlist

Like everyone else (I guess) I always make a wishlist when the sale at Net-a-Porter starts. Often I end up buying nothing because I have bought too much in other stores already (will show you my two new Acne jeans soon, #salescore) (oh and my new RayBan sunnies and Lika Mimika metallic leather espadrilles, oops).

I guess the black flowy suit, blue shirt and white tops don't need an explanation. But as for the rest, the black bag would be the perfect little day bag in addition to my large black tote I carry around. The blue sunnies are just cool, don't you think? and now that I own a pair of silver shoes I'm hooked, I want more. These Saint Laurent silver beauties would be perfect for dancing in the park on summer nights. xx
